SV Werder Bremen set off for their 14th summer training camp in Zillertal on Tuesday morning. Head coach Horst Steffen has 27 players at his disposal as they continue their preparations for the 2025/26 season in Austria from 22nd July to 1st August 2025.

Marvin Ducksch (calf muscle injury) and Jens Stage (stress reaction in foot) will not be making the trip to Austria, as they continue their rehabilitation, while Mitchell Weiser (ACL tear) will remain in Innsbruck for his first rehab sessions before returning to Bremen. Michael Zetterer will join up later for personal reasons. There is a place in the squad though for U19s right-back Luca Höcker. Werder will face Serie A club Parma Calcio on Saturday, 26th July 2025, at 15:00 CEST at the Zeller Parkstadion (2 x 60-minute halves). The final pre-season match will take place on the return journey, when Werder meet Bundesliga rivals TSG Hoffenheim at the Silberstadt Arena in Schwaz on Friday, 1st August 2025, at 12:00 CEST and 14:00 CEST.

Head coach Steffen shared his focus for the camp following Werder's 3-1 win against Regionalliga side Kickers Emden in a recent friendly: “We want to become clearer in our decision-making and automate the processes so there are no more question marks. In defence, we need to work on our coordination, which we've done well on, with just a few exceptions. I’m also excited for the group to gel together more and form an even closer bond.”
